Well if you want to roll with the metaphor thing, it would seem the ball is in the forward pocket the "sub" is lining up for his play. It must be obvious to all the "sub" did not get the ball to the pocket on his own, it is there though the graft and persistent drive forward by his team mates even though the odds at times were stacked against them.

As usual there are the supporters some of the less patient ones have left the ground, of the ones left some recon they would have played a different game altogether, some would even dropped the old team and replaced them with themselves. Then there are the ones that can see the long game, even though they cringed at some of the press releases, they remain confident in the finial out come. This confidents has been proven well founded with the old teams timing as to when to run on the new "supper sub". Then there are the others, undecided, or with a foot in each camp.

No doubt there will be new wanna be supporters queuing at the gate and even trying to climb over the fence, the one thing the current supporters have in common, doesn't matter what camp they are in, is we are in the box seats.
