That's one of the most sensible things I have read on this site over the several years that I've frequented it.

Why people take their investing cues from others - especially from those who present themselves as being in exclusive possession of some unique sort of investing alchemy not available to the common man - is something I will take to my grave without really understanding it.

The only explanation I can possibly muster for this phenomenon of deferring to other people when it comes to investing is that people who do so lack all respect for their capital.
