As CEO of Straits Resources Limited from 1991 to 2002, Mr. Rear was instrumental in defining the model for the profitable
development of stand-alone heap leach copper projects in Australia. During this period he oversaw the development of the
Company from inception to a producing mining Company with an asset base over A$220 million, and revenue in 2001 of
A$140 million. During his time with Straits the Company developed two Greenfield projects and affected the turnaround of a
significant copper project acquired from Western Mining Corporation Limited.
