FIRE AT MATERIAL RECYCLING FACILITY IN GUILDFORD, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Cleanaway Waste Management Limited (ASX: CWY) announces that its Materials Recycling Facility in
Guildford, Western Australia was damaged by a fire on Monday 25 November. The fire was quickly
contained and brought under control by emergency services but there has been extensive damage to the
site.
Commenting on the incident, Cleanaway CEO and Managing Director Vik Bansal said: “We are grateful for
the work of the emergency services in containing the fire at the facility and bringing it under control. Our
teams on site were evacuated quickly and we are pleased that none of our employees or anyone else was
injured in the incident.”
Cleanaway is working with its customers and other suppliers to determine alternative processing solutions
for the materials that would otherwise have been processed at the facility.
Cleanaway intends to rebuild the site and will commence the process of recovering losses arising from the
incident under its existing insurances.
The incident will not have a material impact on its underlying EBITDA for H1 of FY20 or the full year of
FY20.
