Here is a link to an article written in 2011 explaining why the MRRT would fail. To those of us familiar with the PRRT, it was clear from the word go the MRRT was a flawed, optional tax. The MRRT was based on the PRRT which is also a flawed tax. PRRT will fail to collect a cent on all those mega billion LNG projects currently happening. Yes, the federal governments of both persuasions have given away all that gas in commonwealth waters for no royalty.
