John Howard did not have to content with the ravages of the GFC. He had had loads of budget surpluses, and at the same time neglecting to invest in the nation's infrastructure, training, our public healthcare system. He could have started a national disability scheme and would have been able to fund it, but he did nothing.
iron_mike, you should have been criticizing him, instead of nitpicking on Gillard.
