@nastyG I would hypothesize that a lot of this has been priced in heavily already. we are in the information age, and the fear campaigns are already seeping deeply into more crevices than newspapers, television and dial up internet (at best) on their own could achieve previously. Financial institutions have been buffering and applying harsh standards with respect to LIVEX and income for some time now, recently only allowing borrowers who can afford at their rate plus 3% - so i don't see Armageddon for the Mums and Dads as suggested, generally speaking (there will certainly be trouble for some living above their means). it's also suggested that a lot of this inflation may be more transitory than thought - there is evidence that a lot of the supply chain issues have been the cause of a great deal of inflation. Geopolitical tensions imo would be the ones to watch for, and ofcourse a new deadly strain of covid (doesn't seem to be the case so far, knocks on wood).

basically - be wary of the doomsayers.
