Pressure came from a bunch of doctors all wanting to support a trial for adults and I suspect some sort of legal threat as well with it, saw a sudden change in the FDA occur. All of a sudden Novartis's 'concerned citizen' letters were treated as the total joke they always were and things sped up favourably for MSB ahead of the expected timeline back then.
Just my view.
