While the objective and science-based observers continue to 'largely' see the actions by the FDA as beyond the bounds of good leadership, many on this forum continues to see everything done as positive for Mesoblast, or for whatever our preference is currently. It isn't that simple.
One thing I am monitoring with a keen eye is the new administration's "America First" approach, which almost feels like an America only approach. Would that conflict with any actions on a request (AA. Approval, meeting etc) for an Australian company? Yes, our cells have US origin, but the company isn't American. Would they show preference to a MSC application from a US company over a foreign one (despite the exclusive period)? Would they allow an American company to violate our patents and produce a competitive product under the guise of national security or any other guise? When an administration has shown themselves to be willing to bend the rules, or create entirely new rules that suit them one can never be sure.
Right now, we have the US military deployed to a major US city, in peacetime, because citizens are protesting the government's policy. Those deployments have only been done in a limited manner before, usually in the case of natural disasters like hurricanes.
Point being, anything is possible. There are just too many ways this health administration are showing themselves to be willing to go beyond the bounds, and we as investors would be well served to look at how things are unfolding.
And before any of you accuse me of feeding shorts, just save it. I life in reality, not a make belief world.
