At the risk of being lambasted for being an undercover Macbank...

At the risk of being lambasted for being an undercover Macbank operative or a shorter with inside track knowledge of what research Macbank is going to publish or a relative of Macbank's CEO, this unbridled loathing of this particular analyst is quite something to behold.

One would have thought that, if presented with the views several ago of two analysts,

- one of which said that the share price was going to be $16.00, but then he/she had to subsequently adjust his/her financial forecasts by several hundred millions of dollars, swinging from significantly positive to significantly negative figures in the process, as well as slash the Target Price in half, and

- another analyst who, when the stock was $10 recommended to his/her clients to sell the stock, and then the share price subsequently proceeds to lose around two-thirds of its value,

... then any objective observer of this situation would deem the analyst who got it right to be the more credible, on the reasonable basis that making money (or avoiding losing money) for his/her clients is the most important criterion by which analyst recommendations should be judged.

Bizrrely, not on the MSB threads, somehow.

Here the analyst who does his clients a service becomes impugned.


PS. Could you point out, Councilgritter, exactly what actions/wording/content of the analyst in question are lacking in scruples?
