Not sure how plausible that theory is. Have a closer look at shorts data, and how shorting works. All suggest shorters will sit back now till there is a price increase, and if they are competing with fundamentals, you will still see underlying SP will likely keep creaping up (IMO in absence of fda developement, type A meeting), just like last 12 months, but with overlaying peaks and troughs. For mid-long term holders, then that is what matters, underlying support.
