With out their clout , do you think even the Indonesians would have bit their tongues and walked away from East Timor? Were they scared of Australia? Gimme a break!.
For all their failings, their flag waving and big noting, imagine a world without them............they are undoubtedly far preferable, albeit flawed, ....as we all are, ... but the alternatives are too awful to contemplate..
