The Redditors use the phrases "paper hands" and "diamond hands" to describe the two key players in the scenario - paper hands fold and sell their shares at the first sign of weakness. Diamond hands HOLD and don't even think about selling, even as the share price skyrockets to ludicrous, unsustainable levels.
The dude I mentioned above, the US$55 millionaire, is a Diamond hand, he's sold a few puts to sock away about US$11 million, but the rest? He's willing to lose it all to see Melvin and these other a*sholes burn.
With all of the FOMO buyers and newbies we have in MSB, we are far too "paper hand" heavy.
