Say for example, a new commissioner. It looks like this guy, Vivek Murthy, Obama's old Surgeon General, is the one most tipped to take the FDA Commissioner role under Biden.
He was surgeon general under Obama (who approved stemcells going forward in a landmark change) and Biden (who has publically supported stemcells since at least 2004). And he's a specialist in internal medicine.
"Internists routinely see patients with conditions such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and chronic lung disease. An internist may consult with doctors in other fields of medicine, or may be called to consult on a patient by another specialist."
Even if the roles haven't officially changed (by then) - the guard may well have, to a more supportive overall environment for MSB.
