IIRC Dr Kurtzberg insisted on not running a RCT on children. But the FDA will accept a RCT on adults. So Dr Kurtzberg can't be blamed for Ryoncil's lack of progress.
As for COVID-ARDS, it would be amazing if overwhelming efficacy (and satisfactory safety) at an interim readout wasn't sufficient to get an EUA, given that it should be sufficient to get full approval.
