Thanks @ecoool2 for another informative post. In regards to the 50% CGT deduction (his is certainly how I aim to hold shares) - if history repeats itself (which is unfortunately a possibility) and we are back around ~$1.40 in 6 months then any profit from this recent price increase is gone and profit takers would have been right to have sold. Despite trying to predict outcomes LT holders are often as unsuccessful as traders (especially less experienced people like myself who have made money more on luck than knowledge).

So lets give @Cato a break, I'm sure he wouldn't have sold if he knew the announcement was coming just like early investors in MSB wouldn't have bought in at $10/share if they know it would be worth $1-2 years down the track. He took a calculated risk which didn't pay off and bought back in at a premium. I'm sure he will still do well and be rewarded when this baby hits $10 again.
