Cortisone also is not lasting, limited to number of injections over a 12 month period and a lifecycle of number of total injections. It's short to mid term mostly while surgery is considered. That also, is far from a guarantee and the recovery is fraught with complications as is the the factors leading to consideration of it in first place? The current and accepted mode of treatment may be the best at the time, until it is then replaced by something with better prognoses for treatment, time on recovery, movement etc....
A professor usually knows their stuff, a professor in regenerative medicine, well.......not going to hace time to post here are they.
