I think the major concern with the vaccine, as from previous SARS viruses, was the risk of antibody dependent enhancement. There was a SARS vaccine that was tried on monkeys. Those monkeys were all infected with the virus to test the vaccine - and they all died courtesty of ADE. Now from what i've seen there's one strain going around that actually has ADE properties, but it's not proliferating. Furthermore, people are getting reinfected and aren't dropping dead. Further suggesting ADE isn't a huge concern right now.

All a vaccine needs to do is introduce the virus in a weakened state to make our immune system 'familiar' with this new virus. Once that occurs the lethality of the virus *should* largely be mitigated.

Without ADE, a vaccine is likely to 'work'.

It's a very sad day when people are hoping a vaccine doesn't work so they can turn a few dollars.

Sickening actually.
