I can't help thinking that continuing enrolment in the 300 person COVID Ards trial is progressing very slowly. And in MSB's last announcement, states they expect complete enrolment in December.
Please consider this:
The first 90 were enrolled by early August taking about 4 months (actual 30% DSMB peek in early September)
The next 45 were enrolled by early October taking about 2 months ( DSMB peek due early November - assume it is for 45%)
So, if my assumptions are accurate, they are expecting to enrol the balance of 165 by 31 December - less than 3 months time.
Two questions:
a) What might be the reasons behind such a slow enrolment?
b) Do you really think the 300 person COVID ARDS trial will be fully enrolled by end December?
I can't help thinking that continuing enrolment in the 300...
