The theory is that the large pharmas have enough influence and money available to make life difficult for any potential threats to their existing income streams. The use of hedge funds to conduct these prolonged shorting strategies makes it practically untraceable.
if true though, those are the imbeciles that should be hanging their heads in shame.
Those in power do really incredibly stupid things to stay in power... oil companies will spend a fortune lobbying against alternative fuel... we’d probably all be driving battery or hydrogen fueled cars by now if it weren’t for that.
shorting stocks in itself is a legitimate investment strategy, and I feel we need to distinguish the two as the intentions behind the shorting are completely different.
