johnny thats something i've learnt the hard way with far too many small stock specs and seeking out some multiple bagger profits only to end up significant losses. I've shifted towards medium - large companies and mesoblast is probably one of the smaller ones i own being as you say its still very much speculative.
I sleep much better knowing my company won't drop 50-80% and have confidently watched some shares rising 10-50% over a longer time period, but the lower risk means a better appetite for more money.
That being said was quite happy to be in MSB when it went up the recent 100% and sold down a significant portion of those profits as these spec shares ebb and flow too much on news as i'm sure we are all aware. Held on to a small parcel in the hope all their therapies turn out to massively benefit the world and we end up being the next CSL
