In that case, you are brave to continue investing in shares. That takes courage. And you are right to share your experience so that others may learn from it. I have seen so many people lose enormous amounts of money in all kinds of investments, including shares. I have also seen people do really well, they make millions, tens of millions, hundreds of millions. We can do our best to examine every detail and take every precaution but there is always risk from unseen forces. Every investment has risks.
Investing is not the same as gambling but there are some gamblers on this forum. Their language betrays them when they get excited - "giddy up, i'm all in, go you good thing..." They feel sad when the price drops a few cents. They feel elated when the price goes up, even just 5 or 10 cents. I suspect that they may not even realise how much their emotions are involved. We all want the price to up, of course we do, that's why we are investing ...but the gamblers get high on it.
