The trend has got to break at some point imo, order for that to happen there needs to be a catalyst positive or negative inevitably it will go one way or the other.
As you can see from back in 2011 there was multiple uptrends formed , whilst maintaining an overall uptrend until it finally broke down.( which I would have been looking for an exit around the $8 mark back then the market is usually forgiving and will give you a few signs before it happens).
As you can see on the recent chart it had a BO and then formed a new uptrend whilst maintaining the overall uptrend
A break with conviction is my term for big volume if it moves above and below the overall trend line from day to day or week to week on average volume that's fine imo
I've put the charts on a weekly view so it's a bit clearer to see this just gives an overall picture of the longer term direction
