Does anyone have good tax strategies they can share.
This is anonymous so I can say, but I have a I have a $310,000 holding to date and held in my personal name.
I have been holding in part for longer than 12 months, and the other part purchased in the last 6 months. I am a long term holder aiming to hold ideally for 20 years (hence the value I see being in the many millions by then if all goes to plan).
I have been told having the shares in a trust is not really worth while as if it has a significant worth in the future, the distributions to my wife and I would be not be useful. As once you get to your marginal tax rate, to then put it over to the company to pay just 30% tax, would be counter productive as companies are exempt from the 50% CGT discount.
Any thoughts or strategies would be great to hear from those more knowledgeable of 'crafty'.
