Interesting you raise HIV/AIDS. As most are aware there is no vaccine, even though millions have died over the decades since it was discovered.
However, they do now have effective treatments. HIV is no longer a death sentence, it's now a treatable chronic medial condition.
We may never have a vaccine for Covid19 - we may however have an effective treatment.
