JT, The number to watch is hospitalisations. The states to watch are Arizona, Florida, Texas, Sth Carolina, Georgia, California, Nevada. Several already at ICU maximum in their state and many closing in!
Cases lead to hospitalisations that lead to deaths...and that will increase significantly in the ensuing 2-4 weeks...for an indeterminate period until social distancing/isolation etc are implemented and then at least 2 weeks to see cases drop that will see the other metrics follow...
'Dire' would be one word for this...many would use a word that ends in '...ked'.
Of course, unless there will be a therapeutic available that could saves those lives!
