You may be right however one problem and we have seen it play out multiple times. When investors are wound up ,excited and dreaming of what could be , the slightest sign of any thing negative including simple things like stacking the sell side and thinning the buy side have a very inflated impact on the interpretation of the news.
Also I would be very careful taking to much notice of the reported short position . These reports have on many occasions been proven to be inaccurate and one could argue that it is not by accident.
