Thanks for the trigger, I might do the same with my virgin points. I too lost out in the ANSETT collapse to the tune of 500,000 points. I was particularly dirty because my travel agent gave me a heads up and I cashed a lot out with Air Zealand. Guess what, they wouldn't honor the bookings. I doubt Qantas will ever go broke but its near impossible to use them effectively.
