I stumbled upon Mesoblast when I was personally looking for a viable solution to help personally with a dogged autoimmune disease.

I struggled to find any stem cell studies that were not successful (actually I don't think I found one).

I will go overseas one day and get this done as places are performing this therapy outside of countries with tighter regulations (China/Thailand, Panama).

    Enough about me...

Mesoblast can't be looked at in a reductionist way like a typical drug targeting a specific physiological pathway.

The studies seem to be all successful with any condition that involves inflammation. Moving forward, I can imagine R&D costs will be minimal as they are just using the same process over and over, just applying to a different group of inflammatory disease/s. The only variation being really where the stem cells are harvested (adipose, bone, umbilical etc). Umbilical IMO being the best option.

So if you test say a heart patient subset, I bet their GI system and back pain have both improved (or any other issue involving the immune response), albeit this is not what it is measuring specifically or seeking approval for.

In short, it is touted as the future as it truly is a holy grail for any inflammatory/immune conditions.

Using the bodies natural healing ability is so basic and fundamental it is surprising they can patent it.

BUT, patent it they have (1000+) and this will be where the long term value comes in (licensing to other companies mainly). In parallel with Cochlear (COH) and their patents.

If you list all inflammatory diseases, there will be hundreds, with trillions of dollars in health conditions to treat long term.

Normally you would say, well like say Uber, another company can just enter the market and compete in this pool... Patents Patents Patents... this is their competitive advantage and legal moat.

Just one prediction... heart attack 'victims' front line treatment will be to go straight to their local GP for a stem cell transfusion to halt the inflammatory process and prevent subsequent scarring/infarction.

Electric Vehicles are to ICE's. Stem cells are to traditional medications in future (to be used as a broad spectrum treatment when there is any trauma / chronic condition that requires enhanced natural healing).

Lucky for me I could see this potential early on at $1.27 ;-)

I hear people talking 'trading' levels, but this is missing the beat big time. Personally, this is a buy and hold situation until I retire with the premise above. Personally I hope for a pullback as I want to accumulate a bigger position early on.

Like the tech boom, this company has gone through the hype phase back in 2011, reality set in that commercialisation was some time away and it tanked. We are now in the commercialisation phase (as tech is now in it's commercialisation phase in a big way... duh).

Sounds so obvious with tech and will be in the near future with this company as well. Do your research into studies conducted and you will see the big picture and future.

    Cheers,
    Ryan
