IF the shorters have managed to cover their positions, its in their interests to let the SP run. Higher starting point to short down from when they start up again!
If the shorters have not managed to cover their positions, they'll be hoping to weather the storm and start working the SP down once the volume slows. however, any positive news is going to make that very hard though I expect! They'll have to immediately bail.
