That's exactly what many are doing and have been doing. IMO.
Also plenty talking it down to scare newbies or the weak hands.
Also the shorters don't have to be the accumulators. They could have an untraceable agreement.
Even if they get a short squeeze, the value of stocks accumulated at an artificially low price, facilitated by talking it down and lots of it, vastly outweighs any losses. They're playing the long game, just like us. It's just that they're never going to let on.
