Pressure testing processes (in this case, manufacturing processes of MSB stem cells to ensure batch consistency of what goes out the door) is what setting standards in any new endeavour (paradigm shift - stem cells) any industry is about.
And it is incumbent on any overarching body (in this case, the FDA) to set up the correct standards for that new industry (stem cell production) to operate to.
And it is quite likely that the FDA wants to draw on MSB's expertise in this new field in a public forum (it's probably already been discussed behind closed doors) so the standards it sets are seen to be drawn from a public forum.
All par for the course stuff IMO.
