I stopped regarding MSB as speculative the day it announced the successful p3. The science is now proven and legit. We have a product that definitely is going to be on the market and making money. It is just a matter of formality and marketing. And I don't call those speculative. To me speculative means there is a chance of failure just how big is that chance. So we invest in a speculative stock with consideration of risk vs reward.
Would you call Pfizer a speculative stock if you speculated it's SP on one of its trial products ? You would speculate the price but the stock is not speculative.
All points as per @optimistus are applicable to all types of stocks including blue chips.
