Well, I strongly recommend to those traders who "follow" me that they should cease doing so as soon as possible.

Because if there's one thing at which I suspect I would be inordinately inept, then it would be "trading".

Which is why very long periods go by during which I do nothing at all in terms of buying or selling shares.

Why, in 2014, which is drawing to a close, I have only bought shares on two seperate occasions (and on one occasion that was simply adding to existing positions following the receipt of dividends). And I have sold shares in just one company on just one occasion over the past 12 months.

So, I am willing to be described as all sorts of things such as boring, overly conservative, slow to act, dumb, ugly, deranged, an old fart.

But one thing I won't abide, and that's being labelled a trader.

No, ma'am; you can steal my car, burn my house, kick my dog or cuss my mum... But just don't say "Adam's a trader".

That will not do.
Not at all.
