Colt would be spurred to expedite the MAUL deal now that Remington has been awarded the M4/M4A1 carbine supply contract.

The US defence market is getting competitive. Colt’s price in the last exclusive supply contract for the carbines in Dec 2010 was about $1,200 each. Now Remington’s tendered price is about $673 each for albeit 24,000 copies.
