unfortuately it makes sense politically. wa is basically dominated by rio, bhp, fmg and now gina rhinehart doing the massive roy hill project. what interest does the govt have in upsetting above 4 companies so that a few of the small boys can get somethiong started in yilgarn. don't spend on port upgrades, keep royalties coming from rio, bhp, fmg and gina and mantain political ties with them. win/win for barnett. lose/lose for yilgarn iron ore.
