Hey Fellas
Having a look at the JORC Announcement from late December, IndoChine’s geologists state that the 2.1million ounces of gold that was measured by Madison/Buffalo Gold during their 365 drill hole program which was conducted over a period of 10 years and ended in 2007.
Non of the current 10,000m drilling campaign has been included in this JORC Resource Statement. We are expecting these drilling results to commence in the next 4-8 weeks.
We need to keep an eye on the grade and depth of these results to see if they do extend deep into Mt Kare as they do at Porgera.
A couple of items spring to mind with this deposit at Mt Kare, one is that the previous drilling only goes 350metres deep, we know from Porgera, Hidden Valley, Lihir, Grasberg and Crater Mountain that PNG gold deposits go down more than 1200metres.
The fault line that runs through Mt Kare to produce these high grade gold deposits is the same fault line that runs through the 30million ounce gold deposit at Porgera 15km away. Meaning the same geology which is being found at Mt Kare to Porgera isn’t just a coincidence.
What is amazing about Mt Kare, and the fact that the gold resource could increase significantly with a new patch of gold is the purity of gold in the Western Roscoelite Zone. This zone is less than 600m wide and 400m long yet makes up 52% of the 2.1million ounces of gold that they have already found in Mt Kare or just over 1million ounces of gold in this small section. This is a very large mountain over 7km and 5km wide long!
The fact that in the C9 Zone, shown in the diagram in dark blue is “Open at Depth” meaning when the drill bit finished drilling, it finished in Gold Mineralisation.
And the Central Zone is open at Depth but also Open at Strike, or in length towards BZ and the very exciting WRZ.
This 10,000m drilling will better define these areas over the next couple of months which will lead to the 2nd Gold JORC Upgrade expected by May 2012(as per their December presentation)
Cheers Nectar
