Why are only us Brits getting excited by the email and the pics from MT TSHIPI????
Dear Andrew,
I'm very happy to report that Tshipi has now mined its first manganese ore.
It took 11 months of continuous 24 hour-a-day operations for Moolmans (our mining contractor) to shift the waste rock overlaying Tshipi's ore resources. Tshipi blasted its first ore on the 10 October, several weeks earlier than had been planned. A few hours later the Moolmans’s machines were back in the pit loading up our valuable ore.
We are now firmly on the road towards producing our first revenue. Photos of this memorable blast are available on Tshipi's website.
