It has been 4 weeks since I first posted about Mt Welds twin sister , the Crown deposit.
Since then we have looked at its value, and by my calculations, including the Swan deposit it is worth about $200 billion dollars
Mt Welds CLD and Duncan deposit is probably about $300 Billion
Which leaves us a rather large area that is outside Forges sublease area and Lynas' inclusive area.
Just what is in this area is anyones guess but there is a few clues.
Here is what Anaconda says about Mt Weld back in 2001
Industries' Mt Weld Metals deposit has a globally inferred resource
of 145M tonnes @ 0.034% Tantalum (cut off grade 0.02%) and 273M
tonnes @ 0.9% Niobium (cut-grade - 0.5%) throughout the deposit. If
drilling confirms the inferred resource, the Mt Weld Tantalum deposit
would be the world's largest known Tantalum deposit with substantial
Niobium, Titanium, Phosphate and other credits.
The Mt Weld deposit also contains significant phosphate resources,
owned by CSBP Wesfarmers Ltd and reported as 260M tonnes @ 19.8%
Phosphate. Anaconda is operator of an equal joint venture with CSBP
Wesfarmers Ltd to develop this project.
---------------------------------
The Phosphate resource is largely covered in the Explanatory Memorandum Pg 8 in the BDA consultants report
were they state that crown/coors/swan deposits = 77Mt
The CLD and Duncan deposit has less than 2 Mt
So 80Mt max.
Where is the other 180Mt of Phosphate you might ask?
More than 2/3rds of the Phosphate lies in with the 3rd sister deposit.
Now lets look at Tantalum.
Anaconda claimed there was 145Mt at.034%, making it the biggest tantalum deposit in the world at the time.
The CLD and Duncan deposit has nearly 17.5Mt and
Crown deposit has 37.7 Mt giving us a combined total of about 55Mt.
This means there is still 90Mt at .034% of Tantalum to be found
Now look at Niobium
Anaconda claims 273Mt at .9%
This means that there is nearly 220Mt at .9% left in the big sister deposit, 80% of the total Niobium resource
There will also be various grades of rare earths throughout the Mt Welds 3rd sister. There may even be another duncan deposit or two. Mt Weld is big 20-25 Sq km
You may ask what is it all worth? Probably as much as CLD, Duncan, Crown and Swan combined , $500 Billion
So you may say that even if the Forge deal goes through and we lose Crown there is still plenty of upside drilling potential to be found in the Big sister deposit, you would be WRONG
The Master agreement allows Forge to conduct exporation activities in the Co-operation area if they can get Lynas' board approval. The Co-Operation area is all the area not covered by Forge sublease area and Lynas'inclusive area
With Lynas' board approval, which judging by the actions of our three independants so far will just be a formality,
Forge will be able to drill almost anywhere and have access to a potential $500 billion additional resource.
That makes $700 Billion resource
All this for $20.7 million
