It might look like the cobalt price is in freefall when starting at the point in time of it's all time high, in March this year, which was so ridiculously high Elon Musk's brain imploded and he thought he might have to cut it out completely.

Or we could look at it from its low of Feb 2016. The meteoric rise in the cobalt price over the last 30 months is best seen from that point.

Or we could look at it from a year or so ago when the meteoric rise was encouraging miners to acquire new projects and begin enthusiastic exploration for the metal. As we did. That was when the price was roughly the same as now wasn't it? Not sure I'd call that a freefall or look at it as concerning. It might help with Musk's mental health however.

So the price is at the same levels when we acquired the first cobalt project and considered it worthwhile pursuing. From memory anyway, haven't found a reliable graph yet over the 30 months.
