multi monitor station

Question to all,

In the process of building a multi monitor trading station (6 monis) (in the process = thinking about it).

Some of my research on the net has led me to a couple of sites that sell ready made ones at very inflated prices, so im thinking of putting together one myself.

Given my limited knowledge on Computer Hardware I wouldnt have the slightest clue where to start assuming its more complicated than just buying the monitors and hooking it up. From common sense I take it that I might need a couple fo CPUs with special capibilities.

Recommendations, ideas and experiences much appreciated.

p.s Anyone from Sydney who might know of a computing shop around the eastern subs good for getting the gear as well.
