Let's say that I do believe in capitalism and reward for effort. However, it seems to me that our lotteries have gone toward the American model where we now fairly frequently have jackpots in the tens of millions of dollars. I think this week there was one around 60 million dollars!
I did wonder where to put this post and whether to put it under gambling, but I do believe the solution to it may well be political!
It is not just that I would be jealous of the winners of the 20 or 40 million dollars or so, but I actually think it would do more for the economy ( Amber hats for the winner of quality of life in many ways ) if they worked it so there was multiple Prize winners of round $1 000 000 or so instead where possible.
Would be interested in others thoughts, because maybe I am in a very small minority in thinking this way!
