NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard says people critically ill with COVID-19 are being hidden from authorities, as the state recorded another death and 210 new infections. Mr Hazzard said health authorities were grappling with households reticent to reveal one of their members had COVID-19 symptoms. "It is a terrible situation [when households] are not coming forward when of their number is ill," he said. "What we know about the Delta strain is if there is one person in the house [who has the virus], all of them are likely to get it." He said households in these situations might be worried about their income if possible exposure meant their main breadwinner may not be able to work. He added there were additional difficulties involving language barriers and trust, which could also impact the vaccine rollout in Sydney's most ethnically diverse regions.

It was obvious weeks ago when the NSW Premier delayed a lockdown that Multicultural residents were part of the reasons for that. What a colossal multi-level failure of our Govts.
