Mistyrains there is no comparison between the immigration of European peoples in the 50's and 60's to Australia and the influx of third worlders todays.
Greeks, Italians, Irish, Macedonians etc. come from essentially the same European culture which at its core has always shared the same Christian, democratic, enlightenment values and tumultuous history. Its hardly multi-culturalism.
Its typical of the stupidity of immigration advocates that they draw the conclusion that if it worked with the Italians it will work with anybody today.
Ignorance of foreign cultures is one of the hallmarks of the immigration advocate. Mistyrains can you speak Urdu, know what the third largest city in Saudi is, name the major ethnic groups in Iran, know background to the Kurdish/Turkish conflict, describe protocol at Mecca and name the five holiest sites in Islam? Most people cant. They carpet over their ignorance with fluffy soundbites like "we are all basically the same human beings and all cultures are basically equivalent".
