    Its sad and frightening going forward. Any parent would be worried of these unfortunate incidents.

    True, Australia is one of the most tolerant country at present due its mix and location but it has a checkered history.

    Racial violence is not new to this country. Only novelty is that most victims are white. Non whites have being victimized in similar gang attacks for so long in our masked history. There weren’t even law makers to go to in most cases as police etc were to turn on the victim.
    Even as recent as 1980’s 1 out of 3 non whites got spat on or abused on daily basis. Political correctness and multiculturalism helped but the real factor that helped alleviate colour bashing was violence, unfortunately. Asians and middle easterners turned violent en mass and the tide has turned now. Tide has turned for most coloured but Africans I dunno.

    Now is time for the society as a whole to learn from history and find a middle path. It’s a long long road going by the posts in this thread.
