multiculturalism

Stop whining on about multiculturalism. It's here, it's been here ever since man stepped out of the caves and it will be here until man gets back into those caves. There's no such thing as a monoculturalism. The pharaohs thought they had it within their palaces but, instead they had a culture of disease. All sorts of disease in fact.
For any culture to progress, to grow, thrive, blossom it needs to be cross-fertilised by other cultures. It needs to take in elements of other views, other rays from other crystals, other words, philosophies, techniques, thought processes. Otherwise it becomes involuted and cannibalistic. It feeds off itself. To use a most basic example, look at the lowest possible common denominator of our culture, the commercial TV. It is thoroughly cannibalistic and instead of presenting something new, it eats of its self, ie, one channel talking about what's happening in another channel which in turn talks about what's happening in another channel which in turn... nothing new, no new view, no new knowledge imparted, just brown stuff thrown at other channels.
The wider society needs intellectual, moral, ethical, philosophical, religious, cultural envigoration, renewal, rejuvenation -from other peoples, from other faiths who live, not thousands of miles away but next door, so we can have immediate access to them, ask them questions immediately, get to know their thoughts and wishes and to get them to know our thoughts and wishes -which should always be welcoming and open-hearted, open-armed and open-fisted.

Stop whining about the most important nourisher of peace and do something, instead, to promote it.
