"Australians get a bit tetchy when the Chinese migrants come in with their wads of money and high achieving children".
Yeh there's good reason for that:
1. Doing business in China involves corruption - it operates at all levels of society and is just how they do things. You too could be a multi-millionaire if your Australian based business paid workers $5/day and pushed them ragged with 24 hour shifts. Factory workers are treated like absolute sh1t, to say nothing of farmers and miners.
2. The typical Chinese parent pushes his/her children like crazy, desperate to as they are to bring 'glory' to the family name. Many of the kids nowadays grow up despising their parents because there's no semblance of love or acceptance.
3. Many of the new Chinese are rude, pushy goddamned serious! Rarely do I see one crack a smile.
