Probably the rental owners own house doesn’t meet the standards required for rentals.
I was in this position at the beginning of the 2000.. I couldn’t afford security screens for my own houses but was compelled to fit them on the rental house.
Also the lazy tenants wouldn’t even replace a light bulb etc
It a mugs game being in the rental market…exception would be defence housing with the higher administrations fees.
