re: munch..total equity I have a brother in law that works in a Harvey Norman store and he tells me that the stores are owned by their managers... Gerry spikes up front money and then the franchisee pays it off... Kicker is that the managers are drawn from their own staff, best salesmen and the most stable...family etc.
It is run like any other franchise in that they have to but from a central warehouse, and the margins are set by Gerry. There is a requirement that the manager stays in the store for 2 or more years...and if the manager performs, he is offered a larger store.
