No Murdoch is not a cretin.
He is a clever businessperson using his media empire to push their own agenda.
He backs the political party that will deliver the best deal for his business.
This election that means backing the Liberals to hobble the NBN which he thinks threatens his media profits.

Nothing wrong with backing the party that will look after you best but it's a shame he owns so much of the media that he can sway voters. Democracy is not served well when too much of the media is concentrated in too few hands.
